Every structural workshop knows the cycle: saw the tube, measure and mark it, drill it, maybe mill a slot, then deburr. Every step is another clamping and another chance for error. Tube and profile laser cutting collapses that chain into one operation.
How does tube laser cutting work?
The tube is held in chucks and rotated about its axis while the laser head follows the geometry in the CNC program. Cutting to length, holes, slotted holes, slots and end forms are all part of the same program. At Lazer Nokta we cut tubes up to Ø 330 mm and profiles up to 220 mm this way.
6 advantages over sawing
1. One operation, one clamping
Cutting, drilling and slotting happen on one machine; parts don't wait in intermediate stock.
2. Identical parts
All dimensions come from the program, so part one and part one thousand are the same.
3. Interlocking design
Laser-cut tab-and-slot details lock parts together, so no fixture is needed before welding.
4. Perfect weld prep on tube joints
Fish-mouth cuts are almost impossible with a saw; laser-cut joints fit without gaps, making welds faster and stronger.
5. Little burr, clean surface
The narrow, clean kerf shortens deburring and paint preparation.
6. Traceability with marking
Part numbers and assembly marks are added with laser marking in the same program.
Where does it make a difference?
Products built from many similar tube parts benefit most: playgrounds, urban and metal furniture, shelving, agricultural chassis and fitness equipment. See our applications.
Start with contract laser cutting
A tube laser is a big investment; contract cutting gives you the same precision without it. Try your size in the capacity checker and send your drawing via the quote form.
What is tube laser cutting in short?
What is tube laser cutting? It is the CNC-controlled cutting of round tubes and box, angle, U and H profiles with a focused laser beam, where cutting to length, holes, slots and marking happen in a single clamping. For manufacturers it means fewer operations, fewer errors and parts ready for welding.
